    Creamy Dill Salad Dressing

    Spread the love

This creamy dill salad dressing is a (egg-free) twist on a classic Caesar salad dressing. I love that it’s tangy and creamy, and inviting dill to the party only seems natural if you’re looking to spruce up anything from warm potato salads to chilled cucumber salads.

I use this dressing to make this Dill Quinoa Salad with Asparagus and Jammy Eggs (a hearty salad that makes a great work lunch or dinner). This recipe is also just as easy to make as my honey mustard dressing and they both pack a lot of flavor.

Homemade salad dressings are some of the easiest and most forgiving recipes any home cook should master. They take minutes to whip up and you control the ingredient list.

Take this creamy dill salad dressing, which essentially uses an eggless caesar dressing base. Squeamish about anchovy paste? Don’t add it. You’ll still get a healthy dose of umami from the Worcestershire sauce and the parmesan. Garlic lover? Add another clove. At the bottom of the mayonnaise jar? Swap a bit for some sour cream. And so on and so forth…

This creamy dill salad dressing is delicious and versatile: pour it over salad, spread it on salmon or crab cakes, or use it as a veggie dip.

    Ingredients for dill salad dressing

    The Ingredients You’ll Need

    • Lemon Juice
    • Dijon Mustard
    • Worcestershire Sauce: Or in our family, “WorchesTer, sh-sh-sh- sauce,” a flavor triple whammy: savory, sour and sweet. Ultimately, this is one of three umami-packed ingredients that make this dressing so irresistible alongside anchovies and parmesan.
    • Anchovy Paste: Although anchovies give Caesar dressing its signature flavor, you can omit anchovies and swap for an extra splash of Worcestershire sauce.
    • Mayonnaise: I recommend full-fat mayonnaise for this recipe – this Caesar-salad inspired dressing is an indulgent dressing in the first place and if you swap for low-fat mayonnaise, you’ll compromise on flavor and thickness.
    • Parmesan: Skip pre-grated parmesan and instead opt for freshly grated cheese. It’s the difference between having the salty, umami-packed Parm melt into the dressing and finding strings of cheese in the dressing.
    • Fresh Dill: Packed with citrusy freshness that contrasts with the richness of this unctuous dressing.
    • Garlic
